The seed for this trip was planted when we were working on the things to do before we retire list. We had a lot of things to do to the home and yard. There were others, but I do not remember now. Becky added a trip to Alaska. She said she wanted to see a whale and an eagle. Since she added a trip to the list, I felt I should also. So I added the Ireland Trip. We went to Ireland in 2018, and it was a wonderful trip. We never got to the Alaska trip until this year. Becky’s Oklahoma cousin and some of his immediate family booked a trip, and we are tagging along.
The Alaska part of this trip is an Alaskan cruise on Princess Discovery. The weeklong cruise leaves and returns to Seattle. We have an excursion to find whales and will surely see many eagles several times.
This trip is more than Alaska. Once the cruise was booked, we quickly decided to drive to Seattle. We have not been out northwest. We have not seen the National Parks in South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, etc. That’s the trip out to Seattle. The trip home has Sequoia National Park and Rocky Mountain National Park along the way.
Our goal is to make posts on this site as we travel. We really enjoy traveling. So many unexpected things happen along the way. Those are the things that make the trip most wonderful.
This is the first post. I have not edited the sample front page yet. This is kind of two new things; first, I have not had to do any writing regularly for some time; second, WordPress has changed a lot. I need time to think about being creative again.
